11th Julian Rachlin & Friends Chamber Music Festival will be held from August 27 to September 8. On the grand opening concert, famous conductor Zubin Mehta will be leading the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, along with solo performances by the founder of the Festival, Julian Rachlin on violin, Croatian soprano Marija Kuhar Šoša and Serbian Ipča Ramanović, baritone. This concert, for which 800 tickets have been sold weeks in advance, will take place on Držić square which is festival's new venue. Ivo Josipović, Croatian President and many well-known politicians from the region have already confirmed their arrival to this spectacular event.
This year's festival will offer many fantastic concerts with numerous superb artists like Itamar Golan, Mischa Maisky, Janine Jansen, Pavel Vernikov, Martin Grubinger, worldwide famous chamber orchestra from the Baltic countries and many others. The audience will be delighted to welcome the famous duo of the violinist Aleksey Igudesman and pianist Hyung-ki Joo, who will present a funny and memorable show ‘Pirates of the Adriatic’, full of humour and surprises.
As part of the Festival, the second gala charity football game for UNICEF, will take place in the sports hall in Gospino polje on the 4th of September. Three game matches will be played between the team of festival musicians with Julian Rachlin as captain of the team, the team of media representatives and all stars team.
